A GODLY HUSBANDMAN CLEAVES TO GOOD

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Romans 12:9-10

More Scriptures: Jer.1:11-12, Philp.4:8, 1Thess.5:22

Do you know that no matter how terrible your wife or child may be, there is something good about them yet to be discovered? Do you know that your wife and children are not as bad as they appear? Do you also know that your flock have great potentials to become God’s best to humanity? But you must know that satan will never want you to see the good sides of your wife and children so he blinds you from seeing them as God would with negatives. This is the more reason why today’s Scripture, that is Romans chapter twelve (12) and verses nineteen (19) and twenty-one (21) is critical for the survival of your office as the godly husbandman.

Now consider this for a moment. What were those things you would not have enjoyed as a husband if you didn’t have a wife? What would your life have been if God didn’t bless you with a child (ren)? Do you remember that famous song that encourages us to count our blessings and name them one by one? As a husband, if you can truly think well and deep about your wife and children, you will be full of thanks to God for giving them to you. However, for you to cleave to what is good about your wife and children, you must decide daily to only consider what is good about them. Being thankful is not a gift. No husband is gifted to thank God for his flock. Thanksgiving is a choice, a deliberate one for that matter. You must make the choice to always give thanks to God for the gift of a wife and children. Another step to take is to encourage and support their good sides. Every time you celebrate your wife and children, you motivate them to be and give their best to you. Tell them how thankful you are to God for their lives. Tell them how strong they are and how impactful their actions have been to you and the people around them. Be their cheerleader. Don’t be an agent of discouragement.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, by Your Spirit, teach me how to cleave to my sheep as a husband.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of bitterness and hopelessness.
  • Father, by the blood of Jesus Christ, open my eyes to see the good treasures in my flock.

FAITH CONFESSION

I make a vow to cleave to only what is good about my wife and children because I am committed to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
