LET YOUR WORKS SPEAK

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Rev.2:18-19

More Scriptures: 2Tim.2:6, Acts 1:8. Lk.24:49

I want to appreciate God. For some time, I have been reading the daily devotional IN TUNE WITH GOD. And every time I read, I observed that my wife also peeped to see what I am reading. I have been praying the prayers for her as I have learnt from the devotional. Recently, I noticed that she has been praying for me using the devotional as a guide.  E.U.

The above testimony was shared by one of the readers of the devotional, IN TUNE WITH GOD. The testifier sowed seed of prayers for his wife and the wife in return reaped the harvest of intercession as she prayed for her husband. The Word of God says that, whatever a man sows that is what he reaps (Gal.6:7). As the head of your family, you cannot invest your spiritual resources into the lives of your wife and children and you will not be rewarded with harvest. You cannot be interceding for your sheep and not get their goodwill in return. In 2Tim.2:6, the Scripture says, the husbandmen that laboureth MUST BE THE FIRST PARTAKER of the fruits. You do not lose anything when you commit to doing the right things. Rather, you gain everything. It is true that sometimes your sheep may not appreciate all your good works-your prayers, your labour of love, time investment and so much more. But I want you to know that God keeps records. And because He keeps records of your good works, very shortly, it would speak loudly in the lives of your wife and children.

As the head of the family, you must appreciate that you are first responsible to God. He made you the head of your family. He did not make a mistake changing your status from a bachelor to a husband. He knew that you were capable of obeying His instructions in the administration of your home. He is confident that you will not fail Him because He made you in His image and likeness (Gen.1:26). In fact, God blessed-empowered- you. Because you know that you are responsible to Him and that He will require your stewardship of how you administer your family kingdom, you must not give up in doing what is right, notwithstanding the challenges and pressure.

So, for you to remain steadfast in serving the best interest of your sheep, you need the empowerment of the Holy Ghost. In Acts 1:8, the Scripture says, but ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria and into the uttermost parts of the earth. As a spiritual leader who desires to function as the godly husbandman, you need supernatural enablement from the Person of the Holy Ghost (Jn.14:26). You cannot be like Christ to your wife and children by your human effort. For apart from me you can’t do a thing (Jn.15:5b) TLB. God made you the head of the family and gave you a wife and children. He has the plan on how you can succeed as the godly man, husband and father. So, you need to access that plan by asking Him for it and seek His help.

 SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me by Your Spirit to run my office well.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to function excellently as the godly man, husband and father.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, break every root of irresponsibility in my life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I have power with God, and I function like God will in the affairs of my family as the godly man, husband and father to my wife and children in Jesus Name. Amen.
