TROUBLE STARTS WHEN BITTERNESS IS BORN

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Heb.12:14-15

More Scriptures: Ezk.28:13, Jn.10:10, Col.3:19

Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. (Heb.12:14-15) NLT

It is very important to note that bitterness is a very dangerous pill that can kill any husbandman. It is a satanic tool that gives birth to all forms of contamination that affects your spiritual, mental, emotional and physical well being. It is one enemy that you must fight and overcome because bitterness does not have respect for title or age, if it is allowed to gain root.

But how does bitterness contaminate the life of the godly husbandman? I mean how does it defile your spirit? Now, what does it mean for your spirit man to be defiled as the good shepherd? When you are bitter towards your wife and children, you do not see anything good about them. You focus only on their weakness instead of their strength. And as you dwell on the bitterpill, you develop hatred, unforgiveness, anger and revenge, which may lead you to hurt them. This is what satan wants for you because he wants you to fulfill his three-fold assignment. The thief (satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill and to destroy…(Jn.10:10). The devil wants to steal, kill and destroy your life and that of your family kingdom. He wants to use you, through the bait of bitterness to accomplish his plan. Satan is a liar, and he thrives on deceit and lies.

It is impossible to pray for your wife and children when you are bitter towards them. There is no way you can think right thoughts or better things about your wife and children if you are bitter with them. In Ezk.27:30, the Scripture has this to say. It says and shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes (Ezk.27:30). Every time you are bitter against your wife or children, your heart and life is filled with ashes (Col.3:19). And you know what ashes represent. It is the insignificant part of the wood. A lot of the times, ashes are trampled upon.

Now, this is the reason you must not hold bitterness against your wife and children. Thou hast been in Eden, the garden of God, every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold, the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was PREPARED IN THEE (YOU) IN THE DAY THAT THOU WAST CREATED (Ezk.28:13).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the name of Jesus, deliver me from every root of defilement.
  • Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to overcome the temptation to hold bitterness against my wife and children.
  • Father, in the name of Jesus, please empower me to forgive my wife and children easily and quickly and to love them passionately.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am filled with the love of Christ, and it has swallowed up every root of bitterness I may have towards toward my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
