UNDERSTANDING THE HUSBANDMAN, JESUS CHRIST (3)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Heb.12:1-2, Luke 24:26, Gen.18:19

Let us answer the questions asked yesterday about the purpose why God made you the head of your sheepfold, a husband to your wife and a father to your children.

The purpose why God made you the head of your sheepfold is for you to function as the good and godly shepherd. You are the shepherd and your wife and children are your sheep. Now what does a shepherd do? Psalms chapter 23 and verses 1 to the end provides the answer.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters. He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me, you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup run overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever (Ps.23:1-6) NIV.

In John chapter 10 the Scripture describes Jesus Christ in this manner. I am the good shepherd….(Jn.10:11a). I am the door of the sheep (Jn.10:7b). I am the shepherd of the sheep (Jn.10:2).

God wants you to ensure that your wife and children lack nothing, spiritually, emotionally, financially, materially, physically and emotionally. In Jn.10:9, the Bible says, I am the door, by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved and shall go in and out and FIND PASTURES  (Jn.10:9). You must make a determined commitment today to be that good and godly shepherd. You must ensure that your wife and children lack nothing but rather make them to lie down in green pastures of their spirits, souls and bodies.
