UNDERSTANDING THE HUSBANDMAN, JESUS CHRIST (4)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Heb.12:1-2, Luke 24:26, Ps.23:2

He leads them beside still waters (Ps.23:2). Another purpose why God made you the good shepherd is to lead your wife and children in the way of the Lord. So, your headship is about spiritual leadership.

For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him (Gen.18:19) NIV.

As the head of the family, you must understand that you are the leader in your sheepfold and it comes with responsibilities. You are in the lives of your wife and children to lead and guide them. In Ephesians chapter 6 and verse 4, the word of God says, fathers, nurture your children in the way and admonition of the Lord (Eph.6:4). And in chapter 5 of Ephesians and verse 25, the Scripture says, love your wife as Christ has loved the church and gave himself for it (Eph.5:25).

You must recognise that providing godly leadership to your wife and children will establish them in righteousness and give you peace and rest in your journey of life. No man can lead your wife and children like you will. God has provided you the greatest instrument of direction-the Bible. The Bible contains instructions, direction, wisdom and knowledge. You do not have any reason why you must fail as the good and godly shepherd. And it is your honour and it pleases God when you lead your wife and children in peace and quietness.

So, beginning from today, you must be committed to leading your sheep in godliness and righteousness throughout this year 2022 and beyond.
