UNDERSTANDING THE HUSBANDMAN, JESUS CHRIST (5)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Ps.23:3, Heb.12:1-2, Luke 24:26,

He refreshes my soul (Ps.23:3). What a comforting word for you today. The purpose you are in the lives of your wife and children is to comfort them and not hurt them. God wants you to be the refreshing that your sheep needs when they hurt emotionally and physically. God doesn’t want them to seek comfort elsewhere. God wants you to speak hope, courage, faith and assurance to your wife and children. So, the question you must deal with now is this. How graceful are your words to your wife and children?

As the good and godly shepherd, you must acknowledge that your wife and children are emotional beings. They have their struggles, fears and expectations. They sometimes hurt both emotionally and physically. It is your honour to refresh them.

Your presence around your wife and children must spark hope in them. They must be confident to come to you with their hurt and be assured of leaving happier and confident. Everyone who came in contact with Jesus Christ was refreshed in their spirit, soul and body. The woman with the issue of blood was refreshed after she met with Jesus Christ. She was healed. The adulterous woman, who was caught in the very act of adultery met with Jesus Christ with a condemned heart but left Him with a renewed hope and a transformed woman. The leper who was brought to Jesus Christ through the roof top by his friends left Him completely made whole.

As the good and godly husbandman, you must daily load your wife and children with goodness and mercies. For you, each day must count positively in the lives of your wife and children. You must see everyday as an opportunity to be a blessing to your wife and children. And I will bless you ……and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you (Gen.12:3) NIV.
