UNDERSTANDING THE HUSBANDMAN, JESUS CHRIST (6)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Ps.23:3, Heb.12:1-2, Luke 24:26, 1Pet.2:9

You anoint my head with oil (Ps.23:3). The purpose of God making you the shepherd over your wife and children is to manifest the priestly anointing. The anointing of God on your life empowers you to operate in the office of a priest. And what does a priest do? He pronounces God’s blessings over His people. And the Lord said to Moses, tell Aaron and his sons, this is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them, “The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord makes his face to shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace” (Num.6:22-26) NIV.

Both Aaron and his sons were anointed into the office of the priesthood. And the Lord commanded Moses to tell Aaron to operate in the priestly office to bless the people of God. God wants you to bless your wife and children and not curse them. God wants you to set aright the future of your sheep. God doesn’t want you to live the ordinary life. He wants you to live a life above the normal-the life of a priest. Remember that God has made you a chosen generation, a royal PRIESTHOOD …………that you should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (1Pet.2:9).

Begin from today to declare over your wife and children that they are blessed. That the Lord shall keep them; that the Lord shall be gracious unto them; that the Lord shall give them peace everyday and in every area of their lives.

What happens now that you know the purpose of your headship in your sheepfold? The answer is in verse 6 of Psalms chapter 23. Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life….(Ps.23:6). That is what you enjoy when you live the purpose of your calling as the good and godly husbandman. It will be well with you and you will enjoy the loving-kindness of God.
