THE POINT MAN IN CHARGE

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Is.51:8-9, 1Cor.15:34, Eph.5:14, Rev.3:2, Jn.3:3-5, Mk.9:29, Ps.133:2, Jos.1:6-8

In warfare, sports and in any other human endeavour, you will always have a leader going round to see that things are orderly and under control. I want you to liken your home in that manner and be conscious that you are the leader of your wife, children and home.

As the good and godly husbandman, you are the prophet and spiritual leader of your wife and children and God commands you to be on continuous patrol over them and your family territory. You are the man in charge. You are the center of gravity in your sheepfold. Everything rises and falls with you. You are the point man on patrol because you have been empowered by the Spirit of God to be on top of your game as the godly husbandman and head of your family. You are to be in control of every aspect of your family territory-spiritual, emotional, mental and physical. You must have adequate information about situations in and around the lives of your wife and children.

You and I must walk in the light of God’s word, which gives wisdom. You must fight ignorance because ignorance is not an excuse and assumption is dangerous. You have slept enough. You have given so many excuses why you have failed as the good and godly man, husband and father. It is time for you to rise up and take your place in your home. In Amos 6:1, the Bible tells us that woe unto him that is at ease in Zion (Am.6:1). There are so many distractions out there. There are satanic forces trying to pull your wife and children far away from God’s plans. There are landmines that satan has set for you to fall (Jn.10:10). You must be vigilant. The destinies of your wife and children are to be protected and preserved by you. You hold the key. You are their custodian. Your headship is a calling unto greater responsibilities.

But how do I achieve this great task? There are two ways that you can. The first is by engaging in spiritual patrol. This means that you must continue to grow in your spiritual walk with the Lord by giving your life to and living for Jesus Christ. And you achieve this spiritual maturity through diligent study of the word of God, fervent prayer, fasting and fellowship with other godly husbandmen (Jn.3:3-5, Mk.9:29, Ps.133:2, Jos.1:6-8). The deeper your spirituality, the greater your spirit man is sensitive to pick right and wrong signals in and around your wife, children and home. Secondly, you patrol physically. This requires you to use your physical senses-eyes, ears and body –to observe the responses, reactions, mannerism or even body language of your wife and children.

God has called you to be in charge of your wife, children and family. Make Him proud.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, break every siege of the devil on my life and family.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy the root of spiritual laziness in my life.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes to see farther and better in my patrol work.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am committed to work as the point man on patrol because it is the wisdom of God for me to reign as the good and godly husbandman to my wife and children in Jesus name. Amen.
