MAKE A CHOICE TO CHANGE FOR GOOD

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Philp.3:13-14, 1Sam.2:6, Heb.7:12, Lk.15:22, Jos.24:15, Rom.12:21, 1Cor.13:11-12, Matt.5:14-16, Ezk.2:2, Dan.1:8, Jos.24:15

Yesterday, you and I were reminded that God wants us to be fruitful as the good and godly man, husband and father, that is why He wants us to return to Him in repentance, righteousness and holiness. I have no doubt that as you return to God, you will begin to bear fruits that will bring glory and praise to His name, making you indeed the good and godly husbandman.

I want to encourage you to work out your salvation with fear and trembling by making a choice, on a daily basis, to change for good. It is for this reason, the Person of the Holy Spirit has led us to revisit the teaching of Friday July 1, 2022. I pray that the spirit behind the word shall enter you and empower you to make good and godly choices as the husbandman.

“Make a Choice to Change. This is because every transformation starts with the intentional choice to change. The hallmark of your position as the head of the family is your decision to improve yourself consistently in the way you relate with your wife, children and other people. It also has to do with the choices you make on a daily basis. As the head of the family, you cannot continue to live your life outside of God’s will and expect to make a positive impact in the lives of your wife and children. This is why those negative and ungodly things that you do to your wife and children and think it doesn’t matter must stop if you want peace to reign in your family. The mercy of God may not be available the next time you plan to hurt your wife or children. In 1Sam.2:6, the Scriptures describe God as the Man who has the power to kill and make alive, and the power to bring to the grave and bring up (1Sam.2:6).

God has positioned you as the head of the family to oversee your wife and children. Don’t abuse the privilege of being the husbandman. If God has placed you as the head of the family, it is because He considered you a responsible leader, ready and prepared to bring transformation into the lives of your wife and children.

You must also know and acknowledge that your calling as the head of your family is a call to greater responsibilities. And these responsibilities cover spiritual, material and financial provision, protection and guidance, training and vision. In 1Timothy chapter 5 and verse 8, the Word of God commands the husbandman to provide for their households. In Ephesians chapter 6 and verse 4, the Bible commands fathers to train their children in the way and admonition of the Lord. In Galatians chapter 4 and verse 13, the Scripture commands you to intercede for your sheep until Christ is formed in them. It is this consciousness you must have if you want to make a positive change in your life.

Having known these covenant responsibilities, you must now begin to act on the demands of your office. Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of a good and godly husband says that he that heareth my sayings and doeth them, I will liken him to a wise man. So, it is not enough for you to know. It is much more important for you to act out what you know. And this means you must take the lead to provide spiritual, emotional and physical protection for your wife and children. This also requires you to continually uphold your family in fasting and prayers (Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29).

And as you make this change and give yourself to the demands of your office, your value will be enhanced and this transformation will affect your wife and children positively, bringing glory to God (Matt.5:14-16)”

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every root of ignorance and foolishness.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill my heart with supernatural wisdom and make me to lead my sheep well.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a fruitful and responsible man, husband and father to my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take up the challenge to change and become the good and godly man, husband and father because that is what gives value to me, my wife and children in Jesus name. Amen.
