HOW TO GROW INTO THE FULL IMAGE OF CHRIST

Bible Texts: 1Pet.2:1, Jn.5:39, Ps.119:105, 1Cor.16:9, Eph.5:14, Ps.119:89, Lk.18:1, Philp.3:10, Ps.1:1-3, Philp.3:13-14

I have discovered from Scriptures that the perfect will of God for the husbandman is to be like His Son Jesus Christ. God wants the husbandman to grow into full maturity. God doesn’t want him to remain as a baby in the things of the word of God but wants him to develop into sonship. This is why today, we shall be exploring from the word of God, the secrets to growing into the full image of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman.

But how does the husbandman grow into the full image of Jesus Christ?

As new born babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby…(1Pet.2:1b)

As the husbandman, the secret to growing into the full image of Jesus Christ is by desiring the word of God, meditating on the word of God and doing all that the word of God commands and instructs.

From the above Bible passage, the word of says, desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow. Just like the plant needs sunlight and the baby needs milk to grow, you also need the truth of the word of God to grow into the good and godly man, husband and father.

Now, why do I need to feed on the word of God to grow and be like Jesus Christ?

The first reason is that the word of God is the truth. It contains the principles that are enduring and unchanging.

Forever O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven (Ps.119:89)

Secondly, the word of God provides direction that will lead you to act, conduct yourself as the man, husband and father, and react in ways that is pleasing to God.

The word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Ps.119:105)

Thirdly, the word of God changes and transforms.

For we all with an open face beholding as in a glass, the glory of the Lord are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord (2Cor.3:18)

Therefore, feed on the word by studying and thinking on it and act according to the word of God and you will experience good and godly transformation in your spirit, soul and body.

You can be like Jesus Christ! Yes, you can!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, have mercy upon me for not desiring the pure milk of Your word.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower my life to grow by Your word.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to act on Your word and make me to be like Jesus Christ.

FAITH CONFESSION

I desire and drink from the pure word of God daily because that is I need to grow and be like Jesus Christ and that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
