PRAYING WITHOUT CEASING

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Eph.6:18)

Praying as a lifestyle is the husbandman’s greatest spiritual attitude he must develop and have if he wants to continue to remain relevant and useful in his journey as the good and godly man, husband and father. Prayer is like the air he breathes. It is the oxygen that gives life to the ministry of the husbandman.

Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, admonishes you and I to pray always.

Men ought always to pray and not faint (Lk.18:1)

As the husbandman, you must keep the fire on your prayer altar aflame. You must keep your communication with your heavenly Father open. This is the only way you can connect to God and His power which empowers you to overcome the challenges and obstacles set on your journey to becoming the good and godly shepherd.

Jesus says,

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the powers of the enemy (Lk.10:19)

The authority and power you need to be in command of the affairs of your life as the man, husband and father can only be activated by the weapon of prayer and fasting. Beyond asking God for material, financial, career and business breakthrough, you also must ask Him to empower you for a triumphant living and dominion over the invincible world and manipulation of satan, sin and the world.

One very important foundation you need that will help you pray aright and get answers from God. It is the word of God.

Study to show thyself approved as a workman unto God that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15)

When you pray, you must pray with the word of God. This is why you must study the word of God as a lifestyle so that you know the mind of God and pray according to His perfect will.

Another important demand from you that will make you access the power of God for a victorious life is walking in the fear and admonition of the Lord. After you are born again, you must ensure that you do only those things that will please God and bring honour to Him (Jn.3:3-5, Ps.24:1-2, 2Cor.5:17).

Finally, you must walk by faith in God and be hopeful in His word (Heb.10:35, Heb.11:2). God answers prayers when you call but you must believe Him (Heb.11:6).

There is a fierce battle raging against the husbandman. Satan, sin and the world are contending against the husbandman’s design to becoming good and godly (Jn.10:10). But only the empowerment of the Holy Ghost which comes from the prayer altar can give the husbandman victory.

The power of God is what you need to do the perfect will of God as the good and godly man, husband and father (Philp.2:13). And without God helping you, you will struggle to please the Lord Jesus Christ. This is why you must pray without ceasing and praying always in all supplications.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of grace and supplication.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, stir up a prayer revival in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to pray aright and give me victory over the works of satan, sin and the world.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am praying always and without ceasing, using the word of God as my foundation that is the empowerment I need to lead as the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
