SETTING A PATTERN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

DAY 20 of FASTING AND PRAYER

Happy New Year! We give God all the glory for His wondrous works in our lives and in all our operations as individuals, families and ministries, all through the year 2025 (Ps.40:5). I welcome you to the year 2026, your year of ease because the hand of God is holding your right hand (Is.45:1-3). Hallelujah!

Today marks the 20th day of the ongoing 70-day prayer and fasting period. It is the last day of the prayer and fasting, where we are focusing on our spiritual growth and development. And in continuation of our teaching on developing our spiritual growth and development, let us consider another commitment that we must make. And that commitment is for you and I to set a righteous pattern for our lives and in all our operations this year 2026.

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, FOR A PATTERN TO THEM WHICH SHOULD HEREAFTER BELIEVE ON HIM TO LIFE EVERLASTING (1Tim.1:15-16)

As the good and godly husbandman, you are the leading light and an ambassador of Christ; hence, there is a pattern that God has set for you, which He wants you to replicate in your life and in every aspect of your operations. I admonish and exhort you to study the Scriptures intensely to understand the pattern God wants you to set and live by (Gen.2:14-18, Matt.19:5, Num.30:1-end, Deut.6:6-9, Eph.5:25-29, 2Thess.3:10, 1Tim.5:8, Eph.6:4, Col.3:19, Gal.4:19, Matt.5:14-16).

What must I do to set a righteous pattern as the good and godly husbandman?

Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (Jn.3:3)

You must have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (2Cor.5:17).

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the kings’ meat, nor with the wine which he drank….. (Dan.1:8)

You must work out your salvation with fear and trembling by deliberately doing only those things that please God both in thoughts, words and actions. Just like Daniel, you can intentionally do what is right.

I travailed in birth until Christ is formed in you (Gal.4:19)

You must pray fervently and intensely with fasting so the nature, virtue and principles of the word of God shall find expression in your life as the man, husband and father (Ezk.2:2, Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1).

As the good and godly husbandman, you can set a good and godly pattern. It is possible. The grace of God is available for you. Enter into the sufficiency of God’s grace and set good and godly patterns as the husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me Your ways and help me to live through them.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live above the flesh and help me to live by the Spirit.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a good and godly pattern for my wife and children and the world.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a worthy ambassador of Jesus Christ because I have set a godly pattern after the word of God and I am living out the patterns thereby making me function as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.

Now that you have read the devotional, it is very important for you to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer in faith.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
