YOUR PERFECT EXAMPLE IS JESUS

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Heb.12:2, Eph.5:12, Acts 1:1, Philp.3:17, 1Thess.1:6, Lk.18:1, Jn.1:4, Jn.3:16, Jos.1:6-8, Eph.5:25, Jn.14:26, Mk.9:29, Acts 10:32-36, 2Cor.5:17

Today’s teaching is to remind every husbandman who desires to be the good and godly man, husband, and father that Jesus Christ is and remains the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman.

Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us, let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Heb.12:1-2)

The Scripture says that you and I, as husbandmen, must look to Jesus as our perfect example of the good and godly husbandman. Thank God for the examples of good godly husbandmen around us, but they are not perfect. Only Jesus Christ is. And so, our walk to becoming the good and godly husbandman must be after the pattern of Christ because He is the way, the truth, and the life. He showed us how the man should behave, how the husband should conduct his affairs and how the father should lead.

But why should I follow and walk in the steps of Jesus Christ as the good and godly husbandman?

The first reason is that Jesus Christ is perfect and He is love (Eph.5:25). Your pastor, bishop, or father is not perfect because they have their shortcomings and weaknesses. Secondly, Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. When you are in Jesus and He is in you, He guides you on the way to go, teaches you the truth, and helps you to understand and act your covenant roles as the husbandman. Thirdly, Jesus Christ represents the light and life that you need to be useful to your wife and children (Jn.1:4, Jn.10:10). The more of His life you have manifested in and through you, the more attractive you become to your wife, children and the world.

Walking in the steps of Jesus Christ and following His examples is the best way you can grow, develop and manifest the characteristics that will make you the good and godly husbandman.

Hallelujah!
