Bible Texts: Rom.4:17, Gen.2:21-22, Gen.3:20, Pro. 18:21, Matt.12:37, Gen.2:23, Eph.6:4, Eph.5:25-29, 1Cor.13:4-9, Rom.5:5, 1Tim.3:2, Ps.127:3
Today’s message is to help every good and godly husbandman to understand the power of the words he speaks to his wife and children because, according to the word of God, “you shall have whatsoever you say”.
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept and he took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof. And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman and brought her unto the man. And Adam (husband) called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living (Gen.2:21-23)
The Scripture says that the husbandman, Adam, called the woman God brought to him, Eve, and not lion, or sheep, or goat. And exactly what she called her is what she became, the mother of all living thing.
What is the lesson here for you and I who are walking the path of becoming the good and godly husbandman?
The power of life and death is in your tongue.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof (Pro.18:21)
If you call your wife and children stupid, a never-do-well, failure, animal, foolish, useless, good-for-nothing humans, they will become so to you. And if you call them success, wise, fruitful, supportive, strong, useful, and positively affirm them, they become so to you.
As the good and godly shepherd, you must understand that there is an irrevocable power in the words you speak. God wants you to speak graceful words to your wife and children, even when you are upset with them. Call your wife and children what God calls them and experience and enjoy the fruits of your lips, which include peace, honour, faithfulness, respect and encouragement.
I admonish you to redirect your tongue to speak words of peace, honour, respect, grace, motivation, positive affirmation, encouragement and faith. I want you to desist from speaking negative words toward them, even when you are unhappy with their behaviour. Just change your language from negative to positive because that is who you are in Christ as the good and godly husbandman.
Hallelujah!
