Yesterday, while I was studying the Word of God, the Person of the Holy Spirit, opened me up to Philippians chapter 4 and verse 9, and began to teach me how the husbandman can command the respect he deserves from his wife and his children.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you (Philp.4:9)
Too many times, you complain that you do not get the respect and honour you deserve from your wife and your children. But from the Scripture, we have discovered four (4) things that you must do, if you want to be respected by your wife, your children and be a vessel unto honour before God.
The first is what you teach your wife and your children. What do you teach your wife and children? What good and godly virtues would you say you have taught your children? What would you say your wife and your children have learnt from you that will make you the good and godly reference?
The second is what you give to your wife and your children? What have your wife and your children received from you as the good and godly man, husband and father? Have they received from you blessing or cursing, life transforming words or words of death and destruction?
The third is this. What have your wife and your children heard about you? Are they good or bad reports? What is your testimony as the man, husband and father at home and in the marketplace?
The fourth is what you say and do. What have your wife and your children seen about you that they can testify is consistent with the perfect will of God for you as the man, husband and father? Do they see you live a double life, where you say one thing and act in another way?
You must recognize that as the husbandman, your life’s conduct speak louder, both at home and in the marketplace, than any sermon. Your life is the written epistle that your wife and your children read that influences their lives for Christ,
God has called you into a good and godly vocation-shepherding your wife, your children and your home. You must decide today and remain firm in it, to be a good and godly teacher to your wife and your children, be a person of good and godly report and be the example of the husbandman, Jesus Christ, that they have read.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not honouring You with my life each day.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me Your ways and guide me through Your word.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be the perfect example of the good and godly man, husband and father to my wife, my children and on the marketplace.
FAITH CONFESSION
Today, I choose to be and remain the example of Jesus in truth and in spirit, to my wife, my children, and in the marketplace because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
