Bible Texts: Eph.5:25-27, Col.3:19, Rom.5:5, 2Cor.5:17, 1Cor.13:4-8, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Matt.7:7, Eph.6:12-18, Rev.12:10-11
Yesterday, we understood from the Word of God how praying for yourself as the good and godly man helps you to maintain a relationship with God and remain in love with Jesus.
Today, let us look into the Word of God to find out the blessings you enjoy, praying for yourself as the good and godly husband (Gen.2:18-25).
As the good and godly husband, God wants you to love your wife as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself to it (Eph.5:25). But satan is contending with this glorious will of God. This is why you must continue to pray for yourself as the husband.
It may be true that your wife does not meet your expectations. She is not perfect. She has flaws. She has her weaknesses. She is bound to make mistakes. Satan and his agents magnify these gaps you have found in your wife and make them overshadow her strengths and good sides. But when you keep praying for yourself as the husband, you will overcome these evils with good, and your heart will be filled with the love of Christ towards her, and you will find peace in your soul (Rom.5:5, Rom.12:21).
As the good and godly husband, you must understand that principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness in high places are constantly waging war to destroy the glorious partnership between the husband and his wife (Eph.6:12-18). This is why there is an increasing number of cases of divorce and separation, even among believers. But with prayers, you and I can overcome these unseen satanic forces and walk in love towards our wife (Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1, Rev.12:10-11).
Therefore, if you are praying for yourself as the husband, the Person of the Holy Spirit will empower you to manifest the Christ-like virtues of patience, kindness, forgiveness, hope, goodwill, sacrifice, endurance, self-control, sacrificial giving, faith, and support to your wife (1Cor.13:4-8, Philp.2:13). This is what makes you the good and godly husband.
Tomorrow, we shall be looking at the last personality of the husbandman, the father.
