THE TEST OF YOUR FAITH (1)

Bible Texts: 1Pet.1:7-8, Matt.6:22, Gen.12:2, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:23, Eph.5:25-29, 1Tim.3:4, Col.3:19, Eph.6:4, Deut.6:7-8, Jer.1:10-12, Dan.1:8

In leading your life as the husbandman, there will be challenges and temptations. These challenges or temptations are designed to build you up in righteousness and goodness, leading you to become the good and godly man, husband and father. So do not consider suicide or abandonment or regrets as an option.

Read the opening statement in 1Peter chapter 1 and verse 7, where it says that the trial of your faith.

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen, ye love, in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls (1Pet.1:7-9)

The challenges you are having in your relationship with your wife and children, or with your spiritual growth and development, or with your finances and health, or in building your godly character, are a test of your faith. You must not give up, for Christ has made you more than a victor.

But how do I pass the test of faith as I lead my life, and the lives of my wife and children as the man, husband and father?

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me by Your Spirit to see challenges as the trial of my faith.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to remain steadfast in Your promises and help me to focus on Your vision for my life as the man, husband and father.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me more than a conqueror in all life’s tests.

FAITH CONFESSION

The test of my faith is for a moment, and I remain steadfast on the promises of God. I focus my eyes on the glorious destinies that God has prepared for me as the man, husband and father because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer of Salvation/Rededication

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
