LEAD AND LIVE LIKE CHRIST!

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Acts 1:1, 1Cor.11:3, Gen.3:16, Eph.5:23, Jn.17:11-12, Rom.12:1-3, Eph.6:1, 1Pet.1:25, Jn.15:1-5, Rom.12:21, Acts 1:1, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13

As the husbandman, God wants you to lead your wife and your children like Christ so you can influence them for His glory. But how did Jesus Christ lead and influence His disciples for God’s glory?

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach (Acts 1:1)

Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, led by teaching and doing what He taught. Not only did He teach the people, including His disciples, He also practiced what He taught them. That is the key to lasting influence, and that is what God demands from you as you lead your wife and your children.

As the good and godly husbandman, you must recognize that your wife and your children are motivated to do what they see you teach and practice. Your life’s conduct is more powerful than a lifetime of sermons.

You must also understand that God has called you to influence your wife and your children unto goodness and godliness (Matt.5:14-16, Eph.6:4, Col.3:19). So, the best way you can influence them to listen to you, obey you and do as you instruct them is for you to be a practitioner of what you teach, and a teacher of what you do. That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not being a teacher and practitioner of Your Word to my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to teach and do Your Word as I lead my life, my wife and my children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, let my life bring You glory in all I teach and do.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am empowered by the grace of God to be both a teacher and a practitioner of the Word of God because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus’s name. Amen.

PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.

GOOD REPORT FROM THE FIELD

  • The devotional spoke to me this morning. I struggle with bitterness and forgiveness frequently. I need to show more love and compassion to my wife and son even when they are ungodly because that is my duty to protect, love and serve them (Taylor, S)
  • The devotional is amazing. I truly needed to read the entire devotion. Great words and scripture to solidify the message. Praise God. Amen (Mike)
