LEARNING AT THE FEET OF JESUS

Bible Texts: Jn.15:1-5, 1Pet.5:6, Jn.14:26, Jas.4:10, Matt.5:14-16, Rom.12:1-3, Heb.12:2, Rom.12:21, Rom.5:5, Eph.2:6, Jas.4:6

As the husbandman, you are like an apprentice who wants to learn a trade and become good at it. And like the apprentice who looks for an expert and mentor to learn from, you also have someone you can learn from. But who is the mentor you must learn from? He is Jesus Christ. Praise God!

Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and sin which doth so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith……(Heb.12:1-2)

Jesus Christ is the Person from whom you can learn all that you need to know to function as the good and godly man, husband and father. Jesus Christ is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman. He represents how the godly man should behave and conduct his affairs-having deep fellowship with the Father; how the godly husband should be-loving inspite of its failings; how the godly father should live-the source, provider and sustainer.

Your pastor, bishop, reverend are good, but they are not the perfect example to look to in your journey to becoming the good and godly husbandman. Jesus Christ is and the only perfect example (Jn.3:16, Jn.5:39, Acts 1:1, 2Cor.5:17, 2Tim.2:15).

Therefore, look to Jesus Christ by looking at the Word of God and learn His ways. It is the pathway for you to become the good and godly man, husband and father.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of humility and obedience.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me a willing and a teachable spirit and help me to learn Your ways, Your truth and Your life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to trust You, Your word and Your instructions and help me to act them truthfully.

FAITH CONFESSION

I give myself to looking to and learning at the feet of Jesus Christ and in His word because that is what empowers me to be like Him and be victorious as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.

PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
