I have observed that one vital area of the life of the husbandman that the devil attacks, is his spirit man. The devil puts the husbandman under pressure and makes him feel broken and defeated. All of these are to break the spirit of the man, which consequently leads to depression. But see what the Word of God is saying to you today.
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken (Pro.15:13)
God wants you to be joyful in Him and His promises for your life. He is faithful and will never fail you. His thoughts to you are good and not evil to give you a hope and a future (Jer.29:11).
But why should I resist the force of a broken spirit in my life, as the husbandman?
A broken spirit leads to the spirit of heaviness, which gives birth to depression and ultimately opens you up to all kinds of sicknesses, diseases and afflictions. Hence, you must make merry by rejoicing in the Lord and in the power of His grace. It is a choice you must make today and always. Praise God!
Please read these Scriptures and be determined to refuse to be broken, no matter the challenges and pressure confronting you as you lead as the good and godly husbandman.
A merry heart doeth good like medicine, but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
The moment your spirit man is broken, it affects your physical and mental disposition and negatively impacts the relationship you have with your wife, your children and God.
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop, but a good word maketh it glad (Pro.12:25)
A broken spirit makes it easy for you to be defeated by satan, sin and the world.
God did not make you the head of your family to kill you. His intention for you is to bless you and make you a fit and proper vessel of honour to your wife, children and the world at large (Jer.29:11). He has made all grace sufficient for you. So, rejoice! Again, I say rejoice!
Praise be unto Jesus our Lord. Hallelujah!
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the pressures of life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the joy of the Lord fill my heart with hope and strength.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, mend my broken heart and heal my body and mind of fear and doubt.
FAITH CONFESSION
I refuse to be moved by my present negative, unpleasant circumstances, but I rejoice in the Lord and in His Word because the joy of the Lord is my strength as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION
Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.
Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
