Main Scriptures: Genesis 18:1-10
More Scriptures: 1Sam.1:3, 2Sam.24:25, Ps.24:3-4
Your headship as the good and godly shepherd is not limited to provision of food, shelter and clothing for your family, it demands that you strategically position your wife and children for a glorious future through the weapon of sacrificial living. That means making your life a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. In 1Sam.1:3, the Scripture gives us an example of a husband who led his family to offer yearly sacrifice at Shiloh. In 2Sam.24, the Word of God told us about the plague that came upon the people of Israel. The people of Israel suffered emotionally, physically and mentally. They were held bound in chains. But the husband of Abigail, David, offered a sacrifice that stayed the plague. In verse 25 of 2Samuel chapter 24, the Scriptures say, and David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord was entreated for the land, and the plague was stayed. Note the word, David. He was the person who led the way and gave for the rescue of the people.
As the spiritual leader in your home, you can do what David did to put an end to the satanic challenge against your wife and children. You can use sacrificial giving to create a glorious destiny for your sheep. You can put an end to the activities of the adversary in your home and the lives of your flock by sacrifice. You can turn your academically downward child to an excellent student. You can end those perennial sicknesses that attack your wife and children by giving. You can stop the generational death in your family by the power of giving. If David gave on the behalf of the family of Israel and the plague hanging on their lives ceased, then you can do the same thing for your wife and children.
You must understand that in leading your wife and children, you must appreciate the place of kingdom mysteries. And sacrificial giving is one of the mysteries. Part of your responsibility as the leader is to position your family for a glorious future. Abraham the husband of Sarah gave on the behalf of his family and God entered an everlasting covenant with him and it extended to his wife and children and generations after him (Gen.18:1-10, Gen.22:1-3). However, for your giving to be acceptable, you must be a husband who has clean hands, and a pure heart and one who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity nor sworn deceitfully (Ps.24:3-4). You are a creation of giving, use it to bring your wife and children and family to their place of honour and dignity.

- Father, by Your Spirit, grant me grace to pursue and do what is righteous.
- Father, by the blood of Jesus, accept my sacrifice as a token of glory for my family.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, wash me by the blood of Your Son, Jesus and make my giving acceptable to You.
FAITH CONFESSION
I engage the power of sacrificial giving and I give generously to God because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
