THE NATHANIEL’S EXPERIENCE (2)

Bible Texts: Jn.1: 45-46, Philp.3:13-14, Rom.12:21, Deut.8:7, Gal.4:13

Philip found Nathaniel and told him, “we have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote-Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph”. “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathaniel asked. “Come and see”, said Philip. (Jn.1:45-46).

But how I do maintain a positive attitude and faith in my wife and children? Firstly, you must be guided by the truth of God’s word about them. To your wife and children, they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps.139:14). To your children, the Word of God says, they are the heritage of the Lord (Ps.127:3). And to your wife, the Bible says, she is a joint heir of the grace of God upon your life (1Pet.3:7-9). Secondly, you must believe God’s report about your wife and children more than the reports, conduct, character and comments of anyone. The Scripture says, whose report would you believe (Jn.12:37-38)?

Thirdly, you must intercede for them in prayers with fasting. You must understand the efficacy of prayers as a spiritual weapon to build your wife and children in righteousness and in fulfilment of God’s plan for their lives. My little children of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you (Gal.4:19).

Please, don’t give up on your wife and children. Don’t surrender your wife and children to satan, sin and the world. Don’t surrender your sheep to the judgements of the world. Don’t allow your sheep to be harassed, molested and frustrated by the condemnation of man. Let your wife and children see the loving-kindness of God through you. Help them to find comfort in you. Give them the hope that something and better can still come out of them despite their failures.

You are the shepherd to your sheep. Lead them to green pastures. Walk them through the rough edges of life. If anyone and even their circumstances conclude nothing good can come from your sheep, reverse the conclusion. Make something good happen to them. Give them the Nathaniel’s experience. Be to them the Jesus Christ that brought out something good for Nathaniel out of Nazareth. Become all the difference, make all the difference. You make it happen for them.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to rise above every negative reports about my sheep.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, shed Your love richly in my heart.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with Your love that overcomes the faults of my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I rise above the weakness, failings and inadequacies of my wife and children and extend the love of God to them because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
