Welcome to the month of September 2022. It is the ninth month. I pray that you will bring forth your good desires this month in Jesus name. Amen.
As the good and godly husbandman, God wants you to be an example and a teacher. God wants you to teach your wife and children and be the example of what you teach to them. This is what Jesus Christ did while He was on earth. He began both to teach and do (Acts 1:1).
And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him that he should not depart from them. And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also. For therefore am I sent and he preached in the synagogues of Galilee (Lk.4:43-44)
As the head of your family, your first place of assignment where you are to demonstrate the love of God is in your home. Your first parish is not your church but your home, and your first congregation is your wife and children. So, the first place you should demonstrate the Christ-like nature is at home and your relationship with your wife and children. Jesus Christ, the Perfect example of how the husbandman is ordained to behave was first an example to His disciples, before extending His gestures to outsiders. He interacted more with His disciples. He taught them the principles and word of God. He helped them to make wise decisions. He was what He taught His disciples.
But how do I preach first at home and become what I preach to my wife and children?
Firstly, you must give attention to study the word of God for yourself. The more you study the word of God, the more you discover who you in Christ and what the will of God is for your wife, children and home. And as you meditate on the word of God, you become empowered to think, act and teach your wife and children the precepts and principles of Scriptures (Jos.1:6-8, Ps.1:1-3). Secondly, you must consciously seek the help of the ministry of the Holy Spirit to empower you to teach and become what the word of God says. I am the Lord that giveth thee power both to will and do of His good pleasure. Thirdly, you must keep looking unto Jesus Christ because He is the Author and finisher of your faith (Heb.12:1-3). He is your perfect example.
You must know the word of God before you can teach the word. And you must hide the word in your heart before you can act the word. Therefore, seek to know the word of God, become what it says and teach your wife and children because that is what makes you the good and godly husbandman, bringing glory to Jesus Christ our Lord (Matt.5:14-16).
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a living example to my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to become a positive influence to my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every root of deceitfulness, unhealthy habits and pretenses.
FAITH CONFESSION
I give my life as a seed unto God that I may live a life well pleasing to Him, my wife and children as the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
