NO APPLAUDS BEYOND YOUR RESULTS

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 2Cor.12:6, Jn.10:27, 2Cor.10:18, 1Pet.2:21, Gal.2:13, Col.3:19, Eph.6:4, Ps.23:1, Ps.24:1-2, Ps.1:1-3

One of desires of the husbandman is to be applauded by his wife and children. But the applause he desires must commensurate with the results he produces. Consider the Scripture in 2nd Corinthians chapter 12.

If I wanted to boast, I would be no fool in doing so, because I would be telling the truth. But I won’t do it, because I DON’T WANT ANYONE TO GIVE ME CREDIT BEYOND WHAT THEY CAN SEE IN MY LIFE OR HEAR IN MY MESSAGE (2Cor.12:6) NLT

I want you to please place your finger on this verse of Scripture for a moment- I DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO GIVE ME CREDIT BEYOND WHAT THEY CAN SEE IN MY LIFE OR HEAR IN MY MESSAGE.

If you have done that, kindly answer these questions. Do you seek credit from your wife and children beyond what they can see in your life and in your conduct? Do you present to them what is not yours as though you worked for it? Do you demand from your wife and children that they celebrate and honour you when your life speaks otherwise? Do you boast that you are responsible for the upkeep of your children when actually it is your wife or parents who are providing? Do you take credit for the house you live in when it is your wife or parents who own it or are responsible for the payment of the rent? These and many more questions you must answer so that you don’t live a life of lies and self deceit.

As the husbandman whom God has called to become good and godly, you must understand that your wife and children will not celebrate you beyond what they can see your life produce. You don’t expect your children to celebrate you as their mentor when it is their mother who has nurtured them in the way and admonition of the Lord (Eph.6:4). I want you to know this truth. No matter how much you try to cover up your irresponsibility, it will be exposed sooner or later. It is just a matter of time.

Now, how do I command the applauds of my wife and children by my results?

You must continue to work hard to elevate your status by the results you produce. You must give attention to the study of the word of God, meditate on it and act on the word with gladness of heart. You must build your spiritual, mental, emotional, financial and physical life through the knowledge of God. And as you grow in the knowledge of God and do all that God commands for you to do as the man, husband and father, you will begin to produce results that will make God to be happy with you and make your wife and children to applaud you (Matt.5:14-16, Is.1:19, 1Tim.5:8, Eph.5:25, 1Pet.3:7-9).

You must be able to share your testimonies boldly to everyone. You must be prepared to dig deeper, give bigger and work harder.

God has sent you to lead your life and the lives of your wife and children. God wants to celebrate you and desires your wife and children to do same. But you have to be productive and bear fruits because that is what triggers honest celebrations.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from living a life of deceit and unfruitfulness.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a fruitful and productive husbandman.
  • Father, in the name of Jesus, let the fruits of my life make a celebrity in the lives of my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a fruitful vine and I bear fruits that command appreciation and applauds from my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen,
