KEEP YOUR SHEEP AND SHEEPFOLD IN PERFECT PEACE

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Mark 3:23-27, Gen.4:2, Eph.2:2, Jn.10:10, 1Sam.17:20, 1Chro.19:9, Eph.6:25, Eph.6:4, 1Cor.13:4-7, Num.6:22-24, Gen.2:14-15

Who is the shepherd and what makes the shepherd good and godly?

The shepherd is the leader, guide, protector, provider and inspiration, and what makes the shepherd good and godly is when he fulfills the demands of the shepherd. And the people the shepherd is committed to in his covenant responsibilities are the sheep and in this case, his wife and children.

Now, taking the family setting, you, the husbandman, are the shepherd and your wife and children are the sheep. And the perfect will of God for you is to be the good and godly shepherd. God wants you to lead your wife and children forward, provide for them, protect them from satan, sin and the world, inspire them to become all that God has created them to be, motivate them to live God’s best on earth and love them with the love of Christ.

God wants you to be accountable to your sheep because He will hold you accountable for what you did and did not do with them. This is why you must do all that you can to ensure that your sheep and sheepfold are intact. You must bind your sheep together with the love of Christ.

Therefore, let the word of God from Mark Gospel chapter 3 be your anchor to arise to the demands of the good and godly shepherd.

And he called them unto him and said unto them in parables, how can satan cast out satan? And if a KINGDOM be divided against itself, that KINGDOM cannot stand. And if a HOUSE be divided against itself, that HOUSE cannot stand. And if satan rises up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. NO MAN CAN ENTER INTO A STRONG MAN’S HOUSE, AND SPOIL HIS GOODS, EXCEPT HE WILL FIRST BIND THE STRONG MAN, AND THEN HE WILL SPOIL HIS HOUSE (Mk.3:23-27)

As the head of the family, you have been called unto greater responsibilities- to keep and secure your wife and children against the devil, sin and the world. God has entrusted into your hands the lives of your wife and children. Don’t give room for any ungodly influences to make its way into the lives of your sheep and sheepfold. Keep the gate of your sheepfold secured. It is a demand of your office as the good and godly husbandman.

Now is the time to keep your family fold secured. Today is the time to start to keep your sheep in your sheepfold.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to stand strong to defend my sheep and sheepfold.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be forward looking over my sheep and sheepfold.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from spiritual slumber and awaken me unto spiritual fervency.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the good shepherd and I keep my sheep and sheepfold safe and secured because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
