Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us, for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you (2Thess.3:6-7)
This is the commandment from the above Scripture for you. As the husbandman, you must behave yourself in an orderly manner both in your thoughts, words, action, responses and reactions. This is what makes you the good and godly husbandman after the pattern of Jesus Christ, the perfect example.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child. But when I became a man, I put away childish things (1Cor.13:11)
As the husbandman, you must stop those childish behaviours. You must grow up and act like Jesus Christ would. You must contain and control your desires for food, sex, power, position, money and authority because if you are unable to do that, you are like a child. And that is not the perfect will of God for you. God wants you to become a mature and responsible husbandman who is able to walk orderly and righteously.
You must recognize that you have the mind of Christ, hence you have the grace and help from God through Jesus Christ to be like Jesus Christ in all things. Your life and conduct must be in tune with the instructions, principles and commandments of Scriptures for you as the man, husband and father. You must not join the bandwagon of the world and their principles as you lead your life, the lives of your wife and children and in the market place.
Your heavenly Father wants you to be like His Son, Jesus Christ. God wants the nature and image of Christ to shine forth through you in words and in deeds (Matt.5:14-16). Therefore, walk orderly and follow after Jesus Christ because that is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.
Are you ready to walk orderly after the pattern of Jesus Christ has laid for you in His word? Make today and everyday count for Jesus Christ!
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power and force of uncontrolled emotions and appetite.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to bring my thoughts, emotions and responses under the power of Your word and authority.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me by Your word and Spirit to conduct my life in order and after Your perfect will for my life.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am filled with the Spirit of Christ, and I conduct myself in an orderly manner and according to the perfect will of God for my life as the man, husband and father because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
