Bible Texts: Philp.4:9, Eph.6:4, Gen.18:19, Acts 1:1, Pro.29:15, Jos.24:15
Today’s teaching is anchored on Philippians chapter 4 and verse 9, and it is to help you understand your place in the lives of your wife and your children as their father.
I want you to know that as a father, you have the greatest authority and influence over your children; not satan, not sin, and not the world, because your children are gifts from God to you, and they came through your loins (Ps.127:3).
But for you to exercise authority and power over your children as their father, you must take responsibility to do these things as prescribed in Philippians chapter 4 and verse 9.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do, and the God of peace shall be with you (Philp.4:9)
You must teach them the Word of God by your words, your conduct, your actions and your responses (1Tim.3:2-5).
You must demonstrate the new life in Christ Jesus by living a righteous life after the image and likeness of God (2Cor.5:17).
You must speak words of hope, godly validation, faith, and assurance to them because your words are powerful and they carry with it spirit and life.
You must do to them what the Word of God commands you to do in love and not what the world thinks or feels or says.
As the husbandman, you are not only seed-bearing agent, but you are also a nurturer, like one who nurtures a garden until its beauty and glory is seen.
Like Jesus Christ, be the good and godly father.
Hallelujah!
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for not taking responsibility to be the good and godly father to my children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to teach, give, say and do as the good and godly father will do to my children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, grant me the grace to continue to be a true reflection of Jesus to my children so they become like Christ.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am committed to teach, give, say and do what the Word of God commands me to do as the father to my children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus’ name. Amen.
