Welcome to today’s devotional teaching. I pray that the Lord blesses and keeps you and makes His face to shine upon you and gives you peace and grants you your heart desires in Jesus name. Amen.

There is no doubt that the times we are in are interesting and challenging times. Many are losing hope and living in fear and doubt. But as the husbandman, who is in Christ, what is your anchor? This is why today, we shall be looking at the word of God for the answer in Luke Gospel chapter 19 and verses 11 through to 26.

Jesus Christ, in Luke chapter 19 verses 11 to 26 tells a story about a landowner who gave three men money to manage. Each person was expected to invest and grow the money given and give account to the owner of the resources. When the landowner returned, they all appeared before him to give their reports. The landowner rewarded the three managers based on their results. While the first and second managers made profit from the money given to them, the third did not. So, the landowner called the first and second managers wise men and the third manager a foolish man.

What is the lesson you and I can learn from this story?

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness therefore, the world and they that dwell therein (Ps.24:1)

The first lesson for you and I as husbandmen is that whatever we have, be it our work, position, our pursuits, our wife and children as well as other material and financial assets are resources God owns. This means that God owns everything, you don’t own anything. Hence, you and I must ask for the wisdom of God to make the best use of the resources, bringing us profits and fruits (Jas.1:1-6).

No one receives anything except it be given to him by God (Jn.3:27)

The second lesson is that you and I are all stewards and we are accountable to God, our Master, through Jesus Christ. Your wife, children, position, power, finance and everything you have has been given to you by God and you are to act as the good steward. Hence, God demands that you make the resources in your care, including your wife and children better and valuable (Gen.12:2, Gen.22:1).

God trusts you and He has entrusted His resources, including your wife and children, into your care. You must prove to God that you are a good manager of His assets because it is the evidence that you are the good and godly husbandman.

Praise be unto Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
