Bible Texts: 1Tim.1:15-16, Dan.1:8, Jn.3:3, Gal.4:19, Matt.5:14-16, Eph.5:25-29, Col.3:19, Rom.12:21, Eph.6:4, 2Thess.3:10, Ps.24:1-2, 1Cor.13:4-9, Rom.12:21, Ps.1:1-3
A few days ago, I was with a friend discussing the leadership challenge confronting the husbandman and how it is negatively affecting his wife and children. We concluded that the husbandman must set good and godly standards at home for his wife and children to follow, and he must live by them, too.
God wants you to set a righteous pattern for your life and for your wife and children.
Consider this word of the Lord from Scriptures.
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, FOR A PATTERN TO THEM WHICH SHOULD HEREAFTER BELIEVE ON HIM TO LIFE EVERLASTING (1Tim.1:15-16)
The Bible text tells us like Paul did, to set a pattern after Christ. This means the pattern and standards that God wants you to set must be after life, principle and person of Jesus Christ. The reason is because you are the leading light and an ambassador of Christ.
But for you to set good and godly patterns in accordance to the plans and purposes of God for your life as the good and godly man, husband and father, you must have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (Jn.3:3, 2Cor.5:17).
You must work out your salvation with fear and trembling by deliberately doing only those things that please God both in thoughts, words and actions. Just like Daniel, you can purpose in your heart and do what is righteous in your actions and conduct (Dan.1:8).
You must pray fervently and intensely with fasting so that the nature, virtue and principles of the word of God shall find expression in your life as the man, husband and father (Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1, Gal.4:19).
Setting good and godly pattern and standards is possible. The grace of God is available for you. Enter into the sufficiency of God’s grace and take steps to set good and godly patterns as the husbandman.
I encourage you to spend time studying these Scriptural passages (Gen.2:14-18, Matt.19:5, Num.30:1-end, Deut.6:6-9, Eph.5:25-29, 2Thess.3:10, 1Tim.5:8, Eph.6:4, Col.3:19, Gal.4:19, Matt.5:14-16). I pray Spirit behind the word shall minister to your spirit resulting in a new you in Christ Jesus. Amen
Hallelujah!
