The perfect will of God for every husbandman is to be like Jesus Christ. God wants the husbandman to leave behind the old ways of sin and unrighteousness and walk in the newness of life. And this walk of righteousness is not just a once-in-a-while commitment but a consistent devotion until Jesus Christ returns to earth.
Over the next few days, we shall be exploring the Word of God on this vital growth plan for the husbandman.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Rom.8:5-8)
As the husbandman, it is vital for you to take your spiritual life very seriously. This is because carnality leads to loss of family heritage, inner peace, salvation, and hope for eternity.
But what does it mean to be spiritually minded and to walk in the newness of life?
Walking in the newness of life requires that your life be ruled by the word of God. As the man, husband, and father, the Word of God becomes the final authority upon which you make your decisions.
As the husbandman, your decisions and actions must be influenced and determined by what the Bible says and not what the world says. The Word of God must take first place over and above your feelings, your emotions, the suggestions of man, and the positions of your culture and society.
How do I begin my journey to leaving behind the carnal life and start living in the newness of life in Christ Jesus?
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by Your Spirit and walk in the newness of life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every form of carnality in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore to me the joy of my salvation.
FAITH CONFESSION
I give myself to spiritual demands of prayer, word study, fasting and fellowship with God and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
