THE ENEMY IS SATAN

Bible Texts: Jn.10:9-11, Est.7:6, 1Tim.5:14, Eph.2:2, Heb.12:24, Eph.6:10-12, 2Cor.5:17, Rev.12:11, Rom.10:10, 2Tim.2:15, Rom.4:17-21, Jn.3:3-7, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:27-29

Have you wondered who is responsible for the lack of honour that comes in marriage? Remember two Scriptures that confer honour in your marriage. The first is “marriage is honourable”, and the second is “he that finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtain favour from the Lord”. Do you think your wife is the devil or your children?

Today, I want to unmask the force behind the lack of honour in your sheepfold and the person rocking the boat in your home.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience (Eph.2:2)

The misbehavior of your wife or children is rooted in the operation of the devil. Satan is the person instigating and influencing them to do the things that you don’t like. A force higher than them is working the wind of disobedience. Whatever you notice about your wife and children that is contrary to what God expects from them, is coming from satan, sin and the world. It is spiritual corruption.

So, this is what you must do.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph.6:12)

As the husbandman, you must understand that you are not fighting flesh and blood. What you are contending with as you lead yourself, wife and children in the way and admonition of the Lord Jesus Christ are principalities and powers and rulers of darkness in high places.

But how do I contend with the forces satan, sin and the world?

You use the whole armor of God.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Eph.6:10-11)

The whole armor of God includes all of these. Your quality walk with Jesus (Jn.3:3-7, 2Cor.5:17). Your undivided attention to studying the word of God to discover His perfect plans and purposes for your wife and children (2Tim.2:15). Your passionate and unending engagement with the force of prayer and fasting (Mk.9:29, Gal.4:19). Your walk of faith in God and His word, rooted in hope (Heb.11:2, Rom.4:17-21). Your consistent bold declaration of God’s promises and covenants in the direction of your life, wife, children and circumstances (Rom.10:10). Your constant engagement with the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, by pleading His blood over your life, wife, children and the challenges (Heb.12:24, Rev.12:11).

Therefore, don’t fight your wife or your children. They are not the real enemy. Your real enemy is satan. Exercise your authority in Christ over the works of satan and enjoy your honour and dignity as the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I take authority and cast out the influence of satan, sin and the world in my life and in the lives of my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I exercise the power in Jesus Christ over every works of ungodliness in my life and in the lives of my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I input the spirit of righteousness and godliness into my life and in the lives of my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the husbandman of power and authority and I exercise God’s power to overcome the influences of satan, sin and the world working disobedience in the lives of my wife and children; Now, I am bringing them into the fullness of God’s perfect will for them because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord, Jesus, I come to you today, just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
