CALL THEM WHO GOD SAYS THEY ARE

Bible Texts: Rom.4:17, Gen.2:21-22, Gen.3:20, Pro. 18:21, Matt.12:37, Gen.2:23, Eph.6:4, Eph.5:25-29, 1Cor.13:4-9, Rom.5:5, 1Tim.3:2, Ps.127:3

And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept and he took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof. And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman and brought her unto the man. And Adam (husband) called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living (Gen.2:21-22, Gen. 3:20)

After God created the woman, He brought her to her husband, Adam. When Adam saw her, he called her what God intended her to be called: Eve, the mother of all living things. And true to God’s design, she became the mother from whom all humans came.

In the same way God brought the woman to Adam, He has brought to you the woman who is now your wife and the children who are yours as well. Before God brought them to you, He had already ordained a name they must be called because they are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. Therefore, you must search the Word of God to find out what God has called your wife and your children.

A few of the names God wants you to call them are these. God wants you to call them a success, victorious, beautiful, honourable, excellent, bold, blessed, faithful, respectful, loving, and so much more.

As the good and godly husbandman, you must understand that your words are powerful, and they define the outcomes of the lives of your wife and your children. The names you call them also influence how they respond and relate to you. This is why the Word of God reminds you and I that the power of life and death is in the tongue, and we shall be ensnared by the words of our lips.

This is why, from today and going forward, you must begin to call your wife and your children what God has called them, regardless of what their present circumstances or negative situations may be. Speak life and not deadly words to them. Speak graceful words and not words of condemnation. Speak words of encouragement and not words of discouragement, fear, intimidation, and despair.

Remember always that the words you speak carry both life and spirit in them. Therefore, call them the glorious names God had for them. That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for speaking ungraceful words to my wife and to my children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower my tongue to call my wife and my children what You have ordained they be called from the foundation of the world.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, confirm every good name I call my wife and my children in their lives, and make it a reality in their lives.

FAITH CONFESSION

I call my wife and my children the glorious names God calls them from His Word, not minding the unpleasant and negative circumstances around them, and I see them becoming vessels of honour unto God, and a blessing to me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
