LEADERSHIP AND AUTHORITY (2)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Deut.30:19, Jos.24:15, 1Kgs.18, Ps.112:1-10, Rom.6:1-2, Ps.24:1-3, 1Tim.3:1-5, Rom.5:5, Rom.8:1, Matt.5:6, 2Cor.5:17, Philp.2:13

Yesterday, we discovered from Scripture that the husbandman must be intentional in following after the Word of God as he leads himself, his wife and his children. We also learnt that when the husbandman leads his home and family according to the Word of God, he commands good and godly authority over his wife, his children and in the marketplace. This is what makes him the good and godly man, husband and father.

Another way you can lead and exercise good and godly authority over your home, your wife and your children is to continue to lead them to serve the living God.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye shall serve……..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods (Jos.24:14-16)

Joshua was a man whom God chose to lead the people of Israel, including his wife and his children, to the promised land. He served the Lord and led his family to do so, too. But it is a choice you must make.

When you lead your life, serving the Lord and leading your wife and your children in serving the Lord, you impact them positively for Christ (Ps.112:1-10). God will not only bless you, but you will also become a blessing indeed, and your generation after you will be blessed.

You will also become a good and godly influence, influencing the direction and path your wife and your children will also take.

God has called you to lead your life, your home, your wife and your children by His Word because it is the authority you need to become the good and godly man, husband and father (Acts.1:1, Pro.4:20-24).

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to make good and godly choices in my life as the man, husband and father.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with the spirit of boldness and courage to always do Your perfect will for my life.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, guide me through Your word and help me to love and obey You with the whole of my heart, might and strength.

FAITH CONFESSION

I choose to obey all of God’s commandments as the man, husband and father, by the Spirit of obedience, because that is what makes me grow and develop into the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
