Bible Texts: Pro.15:13, Lk.4:18, Pro.17:22, Pro.12:25, Zech.4:6, Philp.4:6, 1Thess.5:16-18, Ps.23:1, Is.61:3
Today’s teaching is to help the husbandman understand how to overcome the spirit of heaviness and stay above the darts of depression, frustration, and compromise that satan throws.
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken (Pro.15:13)
The Word of God says that a merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by the sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. What this means is that a grateful heart affects the physical, mental, and emotional life positively. But an ungrateful spirit destroys the emotional, physical, and mental life.
As the husbandman, God wants you to develop an attitude of gratitude. God wants you to be grateful and be thankful, notwithstanding the demands of being the good and godly man, husband and father. God does not want you to resign to defeat, fear and discouragement because it will break your spirit and lead you to death (Pro.17:22).
Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philp.4:6)
You must learn to always give thanks to God, even for the life that you live. You must learn to live a life of gratitude. You must learn to be hopeful in God and in His word as you journey through life.
God did not make you the husbandman so that you will end up in defeat and frustration. His intention for you is to bless you and make you a fit and proper vessel of honour for your wife, your children, and the world at large (Gen.12:1-3). So, let the joy of the Lord become your strength and be thankful to God for who He is and for what He can do with you, for you, and through you.
Hallelujah!
