TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR GROWTH

God wants every husbandman to grow up. God wants every husbandman to grow up into sonship by taking up covenant responsibility. God wants every husbandman to leave behind those childish behaviours and embrace commitment, ownership and discipline, which is the hallmark of the good and godly husbandman.

Now read what Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman says, particularly verse 48 of Matthew chapter 5.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you , love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you. For if you love them which love you what reward have ye? Do not the publicans the same?…… BE YE THEREFORE PERFECT, EVEN AS YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN IS PERFECT (Matt.5:43-48)

Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman says that you must be perfect because your Father, Who is in heaven, is perfect. You cannot continue to give excuses for your misbehaviour and ungodly conduct and blame others for it. You cannot continue to reflect attitudes and character that do not represent who the good and godly man, husband and father is as commanded by the Word of God. You must grow up.

Now, what are the attributes I must possess and reflect as evidence that I am growing as the good and godly husbandman?

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith (faithfulness), meekness, temperance (Gal.5:22).

As the husbandman, you must grow up by manifesting the fruit of the Spirit of Christ which is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, forgiveness, compassion, mercy, kindness, generosity, truthfulness, courage, faith and endurance.

God wants you to keep growing each day in your thoughts, with your words and in your actions. God wants you to experience growth and improvement in your spiritual, emotional and physical life as the good and godly man, husband and father. God wants you to grow out of your childish tendencies unto maturity (1Cor.13:11). Therefore, take responsibility for your growth.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for disobeying Your instructions and refusing to grow up as the man, husband and father.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me boldness and courage to disassociate myself from all forms of ungodliness.
• Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to exercise power and authority over the influences of satan, sin and the world and make me to bear the fruit of the Spirit.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and I walk in this consciousness in my thought, action, communication, association and relationship, bearing the fruit of the Spirit because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
