You Must Settle It In Your Heart

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Lk.21:14-15

More Scriptures: Rom.10:10, Jos.1:9, Heb.3:10

In the last few months, a few of the husbands that I know have gone through the most horrifying challenges ever and died, while some others that went though the same challenges have survived and are alive today. But one truth that becomes very obvious is that while those who are alive won the battle in their heart, others lost it in their heart. I want to challenge every husband to settle it in their hearts that all hope is not lost.

Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist (Lk.21:14-15)

As the head of your family, your wife may not behave as decently as you would expect. She may even exhibit characters that will put you off. Your children may have disappointed you in every area of their lives. It may be true that the totality of your flock is not what you ever wished. Whatever the circumstances may be, settle it in your heart that they are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. They are valuable assets to you and to your destiny. Don’t allow the devil to whisper into your hearts to foreclose on your wife and children. Don’t let the devil make you believe that there is nothing good that can come out of your wife and children.

But why must I settle the truth of God’s word for my flock in my heart? Firstly, it is because your heart controls your life. What goes on in your heart affects how you relate with your wife and children. Secondly, it is your heart that delivers the power to believe God. For with the heart man believes….. (Rom.10:10). So, if you settle it in your heart that your flock are good and perfect gifts from God, it will be impossible for anyone to distract you from investing your resources into their lives. Settle your victory in your heart and watch how your life will command the respect and honour you desire from your wife and children.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, revive my heart to hope again in Your promises and assurance.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every hold of hopelessness.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, strengthen my inner man with unshakable faith.

My heart hopes in the Lord for He is my helper even as I lead my wife and children as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
