The Head Of Every Husband Is Christ

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: 1Cor.11:1-3

More Scriptures: Lk.6:40, Eph.5:25, Jn.5:19

Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you brethren, that ye remember me in all things and keep the ordinances, as I have delivered them to you. But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ and the head of the woman is the man and the head of Christ is God (1Cor.11:1-3) KJV

One of the deceitfulness of the devil to the husbandman is that the husband does not report to anybody. The husband sees himself as the final man of authority- alpha and omega. Sadly, this lie has led many husbands to be careless with the position thereby leading to divorce, unhealthy relationships between them and their flocks and so much evil. But from our study in 1Cor.11, the word of God shows you and I very clearly that we have someone we report to. We have a Head. And His name is Jesus Christ. The head of every man is Christ. The same way you are the head of your wife so do you have a Head in Jesus Christ. So, be careful and watch how you live.

But why is Jesus Christ, your head and why does the word of God set a relationship between you and your wife and between you and Jesus Christ? Jesus Christ is the perfect example of a good and godly husband. He demonstrates to us how a godly husband is expected to conduct himself. The word of God says, husband love thy wife as Christ has loved the Church (Eph.5:25). Everything you want to learn about being a godly husband is found in Christ. So, if you learn to follow Him as your head, He will empower you to function like Him profitably in the lives of your wife and children. Jesus always looked up to God while He walked the earth. He did not do anything except what He heard from His Father. And because He understood the importance of leadership, He succeeded as a Shepherd. He was a good shepherd (Jn.10:11). You must look up to Jesus Christ for strength, wisdom, guidance and courage to execute your office as the husbandman. However, there is an enemy you must steadfastly resist. It is called pride. Don’t give pride a chance in your life. It destroys and disconnects any husband from the flow of the grace of God. You have a glorious heritage in Jesus Christ. Make Him your head and He will empower you to reign as a good and godly husband.

·         Father, in the Name of Jesus, keep my eyes fixed on Jesus Christ all the days of my life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I acknowledge Jesus Christ as my Head and I look to Him for instructions and wisdom because I want to be a good and godly husband to my wife and children in Jesus Name. Amen.
