THE GODLY HUSBAND’S MIND SET

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Philippians 4:8

More Scriptures: Dan.1:8, Ss.5:16, Rom.15:14

This is one my favorite verse of Scriptures as the head of the family. As a husband, now married for over fifteen (15) years, this passage of the Bible has truly transformed me and has made me a better husband to my wife and children. And I want to share it with you and trust God that you will be blessed. I call this verse of Scripture, the litmus test for character and positive decision platform. As a husband, if you can allow this test to guide your decisions and action, you will just realize that your life will become a force and your relationship with your wife and children improve on an increasing basis. As the head of the family, you are faced with decisions to make towards your wife and children, in your finances, on your journeys and even in your relationships. The decisions you make today will determine the doors that will be opened to you and your family in the future, either positively or negatively. Some husbands are having rough times with their wives and children because they did not weigh their actions and decisions based on the Word of God. Wives can no longer trust their husbands; children have absconded from home, and strife is everywhere in the home.

You are the head of the family and an overseer over your wife and children. Your wife and children are bearing your names. Beyond you are the lives of your family. You must be very careful the decisions you take over your wife and children. But what is this litmus test? It is in Philippians 4:8. It says finally, brethren, whatever things are TRUE, whatever things are NOBLE, whatever things are JUST, whatever things are PURE, whatever things are LOVELY, whatever things are of GOOD REPORT, if there be anything virtue and if there is anything PRAISEWORTHY, MEDITATE on these things. Husbands, the next time you want to take a decision over your wife, children, that business or that relationship, ask these questions. Is it the truth? Is it noble? Is it lovely? Is it of good report if your wife and children hear it? Is it something that will be worthy of praise to God? If it doesn’t meet this test, it’s not worth it. Don’t do it.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to hold onto what is right at all times as the head of my family.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, strengthen my inner man to refuse to do the wrong things to my wife, children and the society.
  • Father, by Your Spirit and blood, conquer the power of sin and foolishness in my life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, I will do the right things to my wife and children as their godly head in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.
