But let a man examine himself………….. (1 Cor.11:28)
Praise God! We are at the last day in the month of December 2018. It is also the last day of the year 2018. I am confident that you have learned something new about your heritage as the godly husbandman. I believe that you have also received the knowledge of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of a good and godly husbandman that would inspire, motivate and empower you. Glory be to God in the highest.
But what is the Holy Spirit asking you to do today? He wants you to examine yourself. The Holy Spirit wants you to consider how you have lived your life as a man, husband and father all through this year. God wants you to conduct a self examination of yourself-how you have related with Him, your wife and children and the people around you. God wants you to ask yourself very tough questions that will challenge you to become the good and godly husbandman that you have been made to be from the foundation of this world. This is because your life is summed up in the words of your mouth, the meditations of your heart and your conduct and works. You cannot claim to be a godly man, husband and father if you do not do those things that the Lord Jesus Christ has commanded you to do. According to the word of God, it says, but be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves (Jas.1:22). The greatest deceit you can do to yourself is to deceive yourself. You can deceive everybody including your sheep, but it is foolishness to deceive your own self. And the Bible tells us that only those people that do the commandments of God are the friends of God. So, the questions you will need to ask yourself are based on the instructions from Scripture in Philippians chapter 4 and verses 8. Have your dealings with your wife and children been pure, honest, lovely, noble and reputable? In your place of work and in your relationship with your business partners and professional colleagues, have you reflected the very character of Jesus Christ to the extent that you called a noble and pure Christian? If Jesus appears today, can He testify of you in this wise, for I know him (Abraham) that he will command his children and his household after him and they shall keep the way of the Lord to do justice and judgement that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him (Gen.18:19). You must challenge yourself like Daniel did in Dan.1:8 and refuse to continue your dishonourable life as the head of your family. God wants the best for you as the godly man, husband and father. You must willingly and deliberately cooperate with Him to live that glorious life as the godly husbandman.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, I repent of all my wrong doings as a man, husband and father.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask that you forgive me for maltreating my wife and children and those around me.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to run my office as the godly husband honourably all through the year 2019 and beyond.
