ACTIVATING MY POTENTIAL (3)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.2:14-18

More Scriptures: Matt.6:33, Ps.23:1, Philp.4:18

The third is their mentality. You must help them to have the right attitude to work, to governance, politics, business and to the laws of the country where they reside as well as the way they relate with others (Deut.6:1-10). You must help your sheep to understand what is right from the Word of God and lead them to do it unashamedly. In Matt.6:33, the Scripture says that seek ye first his kingdom and his righteousness. You must let them appreciate that doing the right things pleases God and when they keep doing what is right, they will be exalted in their business, academic and nation. The fourth aspect is their physical well-being and this begins with you providing for their needs for shelter, food, clothing and education. It is dishonourable for you to be dependent on your wife to provide money for food, the payment of the children’s school fees and accommodation. It is against the ethics of the office of the godly husbandman. God is called the provider. The Lord is my shepherd (Ps.23:1). God is also a supplier. The Lord shall supply all my needs according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus (Philp.4:19). God made you and took personal responsibility to provide what you need. According to the Scriptures God has provided for you all that you require for life and godliness. So, it doesn’t fit you and it is not husbandly to be a sheep rather than a shepherd.

You must remember that you took your wife way from her parents with a promise to continue from where they stopped in taking care of their daughter. Your children did not beg you to come. You impregnated your wife and she brought forth children for you. You are personally responsible for their welfare. This is why the Bible says this. He that cannot provide for his household is worse than an infidel (1Tim.5:7-8). You must get out your comfort zone, get into the field and work. It doesn’t matter how much you earn and matters less how much your wife earns, give to your wife what God has blessed you with and trust Him for greater financial open doors. You earn the authority, honour and dignity of your wife and children when you are indeed their provider.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a fruitful vine to my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the power to function as the good and godly shepherd in my sheepfold.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every careless living.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am empowered by God through the Holy Spirit to function maximally as the good and godly husband in my sheepfold in Jesus Name. Amen.
