ACTIVATING MY POTENTIAL (4)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.2:14-18

More Scriptures: Matt.6:33, Ps.23:1, Philp.4:18

The fourth dimension of your divine personality is that you are their supporter. You are your wife and children’s first cheer leader. Many husbands are cheering other women and even other children but have refused to do the same for their own sheep. One major way you can cheer your sheep to victory in life is to make yourself available for them, and this you can achieve by being involved in their academics and endeavours. So, the question you should ask yourself is this. How much do I know about the school that my children attend? How much do I know about the career path that my child has chosen for himself or herself? How much do I know about the academic challenges that my seed may be having? Do I know their strong subjects as well as their weak subjects? If you do not know what they do and take interest in the things that they do, someone else will cheer them up. And that is the voice they will follow. Jesus speaking said, my sheep heareth my voice and I know them and they follow me (Jn.10:27). When last did you commend your wife? When last did you tell your wife how beautiful she looks in that dress or hair do? When was the last time you sincerely appreciated your wife for the meal she cooked or for the laundry she did for you and the children? When was the last time you thanked your wife and praised her? If you do not do cheer your wife truthfully and regularly, you are opening the door for another man to cheer her. It is very dangerous because she will most likely follow the voice that is loudest in her life.

The fifth aspect of your God-ordained personality is that you are their protector. Now, you must understand that no wise farmer ever watches his seeds destroyed by birds. He protects his seeds by any means and by all costs. I want you to take a look at this Scripture and then answer the questions that will follow. My sheep hears my voice and I know them and they follow me. And I give them eternal life and they shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My father which gave them to me is greater than all and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand (Jn.10:28-29). Between you and your wife and children who is the sheep and who is the shepherd? Is it God that blessed you with children? And did you find your wife and eventually get married to her? Jesus Christ who is the perfect example of the good and godly husband, said that as a Shepherd, He has taken full responsibility to protect his sheep. He said no man can pluck them from His hand. That is who you are. God has given to you a wife and children. You are their shepherd. They are your sheep. No man no matter who they are or what they have, pressure of life, and the negative circumstances of life including divorce has the power to snatch your wife and children from you. This is because God has empowered you to be the protector.
