THE EIGHT COMMANDMENTS (8)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: John 10:1-end

More Scriptures: John 10:16, Genesis 3:9, Mark 4:12

Glory be to God in the highest! Today is the last day of our teaching series. I encourage you to do these things. First, I want you to re-read the teachings from the first day to the seventh day. Secondly, I want you to write out all the eight (8) commandments either in your diary, stick-on and place it where you can interface with it regularly. Thirdly, I want you to declare the commandments daily to yourself. This challenge will transform you and make you the good and godly man, husband and father to your wife, children and the society.  On this last day, the 16th verse of the 10th chapter of John provides the commandment. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold, them also I must bring and they shall hear my voice and there shall be one-fold and one shepherd (John 10:16). The last command for every shepherd is that he RESTORES THE SANCTITY AND UNITY OF THE SHEEPFOLD.

As the shepherd over the sheep of God in your care, it is very important for you to understand that your assignment to your wife and children and the sheepfold is two-fold. The first is the present and the second is future. In the present, God wants you to provide for the daily needs of your sheep just as He does to you. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread (Matthew 6:10-11). That is the first empowerment you have with God. The second is that God wants you to secure your sheepfold from the attack of divorce by destroying anything that will trigger it in and around your sheepfold. My Father, which gave them (sheep) me is greater than all and no man is able to pluck them(sheep) out of my Father’s hand (John 10:29). And I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand (John 10:28). God has empowered you to rescue your sheepfold from the winds and rains of separation and divorce, and He wants you to keep ensuring that your wife and children and your good self are united in spirit, soul and body. As a shepherd and the head of your family, it is your primary and principal responsibility to ensure the unity of your family, irrespective of who wants your sheepfold scattered. It is not the time to play the blame game. It is time for you to take up the responsibility of bringing them back into the family fold.  But for you to do this you must first accept full responsibility for the lives of your wife and children because you will give account of your stewardship to God (Genesis 3:8-10). Secondly, you must watch over them in intercession and supplication, providing a shield around their destinies. Thirdly, you must learn to live well with them as Jesus Christ would in speech and conduct. Be the Bible they have heard, and watch them remain in your green pastures for life (Psalms 23:1).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from ungodly influences.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver my sheep from the voices of strangers.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, keep my family in perfect peace.

FAITH CONFESSION

I accept full responsibility to secure and maintain the unity of my wife and children and sheepfold because that is God’s will for my life as the good and godly shepherd in Jesus Name. Amen.
