MENTION DAILY IN PRAYERS

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Rom.1:9

More Scriptures: Lk.18:1, 1Thess.2:5, 2Cor.1:23

Many times, as heads of our sheep, we complain about the misbehavior of our wife and children. We have adequate time to explain to anyone who cares to listen how irresponsible our flock are. We have enough evidence to show how our sheep have been disloyal, disrespectful, disobedient and rebellious to us and our instructions. This approach seems to justify our negative responses and reactions to our sheep yet it has never solved the challenge. Consequently, we struggle to lead our sheep as God would want and we become angry, frustrated, unhappy and unforgiven.

But the Word of God has given you and I the way to dealing with our unruly sheep. The Bible commands you to mention your sheep in prayers. And that is pray for your wife and children in love. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers. (Romans 1:9). So, the question you must answer as the head of your family and the spiritual authority over your sheep, is this. How often do you mention the gap and challenges of your wife and children to God in your prayers? And if you do, do you envelop your intercession with the love of Christ or with doubt and revenge? As the head of your family, you must understand that you hold the ace by the grace of election as the husbandman. You are the leader and shepherd of your sheep and God demands that you lead your wife and children effectively. And to do this effectively, you must take up the task of owning your sheep because you are the custodian.

So, rather than complain about the weaknesses of your wife and children and make a public show of them, you must pray for them. You must mention those gaps that you have noticed in them to God in intercession. For your prayer to be effective, you must adopt these three attitudes. First, you must live in love and not in bitterness. The Word of God says that he that lives in love lives in God(1Jn.4:16). Secondly, you must pray in faith and not in doubt because the prayer of faith shall save the sick (Jas.5:15). Thirdly, you must discipline your tongue so that it speaks the provisions of the word of God rather than the negative attitudes of your sheep. For with the heart man believes and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:10). You must continue to pray for your sheep ceaselessly. You must never give room for complacency. (Lk.18:1). God has entrusted His treasures, that is your wife and children, into your hands. He will hold you accountable for the outcomes of their lives. (Gen.3:5-10, Gen.18:19, Acts 10:1-10). Don’t ever give in to the rudiments and traditions of men, giving up on your sheep. You have power with God and your faith in Him can restore, recover and realign your lost sheep back to Jesus Christ.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, please, help me to take my wife and children to prayers consistently.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the Spirit of courage and faith.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, set my prayer altar on fire for instant results.

FAITH CONFESSION

I mention the challenges and gaps in my wife and children to God to help them become great vessels because that is what makes me the good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
