SO, HE PRAYED FERVENTLY (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Jas.5:16-17

More Scriptures: Gal.4:19, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29

Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it rained not on the earth by space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain and the earth brought forth her fruit (Jas.5:16-17)

As the head of your family, you have been empowered by God and the grace that comes with your headship, to operate like Elijah. You are not a weakling. You are strong. You have a voice. You are a man of influence and affluence (Rev.5:10-12). Don’t let the devil deceive you to think that you are not fit to be a husband or that you are not capable to bring down the will of God in your sheepfold. The Scripture says our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come and thy will be done on earth.

You must also appreciate the truth that only the prayer of faith gets the attention of God. For by faith the elders obtained a good report and without faith, it is impossible to please God (Heb.11:2,6). You have complained enough about your wife and children, even when you go to God in prayer. You have to trust God that He can help you. So, you must come to Him with assurance in your heart that He will answer. Never give up on your wife or children. Don’t foreclose on the circumstance around your life. It may be a health challenge. It may also be a fruitfulness challenge. It may also be relationship challenges. Whatever it is, God is waiting at the door to hear you express your faith in Him through prayer the same way Sarah’s husband did.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to pray Your will for my flock.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, increase my faith in You and Your word.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, hear me when I call and speedily so.

FAITH CONFESSION

I come boldly and in faith to God even as I pray to Him concerning all things that pertain to life and godliness because that is what makes me a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
