THE HERITAGE OF EVERY GODLY HUSBANDMAN

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Is.54:12-15

More Scriptures: Rev.5:12, Gen.12:3, Is.61:9

I was in church on Sunday when the man of God was preaching on the unlimited power of faith. In the course of the teaching he asked us to open to the book of Hebrews. And as I was just trying to get to Hebrews, I stumbled on Isaiah 54. Immediately the Person of the Holy Spirit, Who remains and will forever be my Greatest Teacher, began to teach me from Is.54:12-15. He called it, THE HERITAGE OF EVERY GODLY HUSBANDMAN.  But before we go into the teaching, it is important to understand the meaning of heritage. Heritage means that which is allotted, possession, property, portion, share, peculiar right, inheritance. So, as the good and godly shepherd, God has allotted certain privileges to you. You have peculiar rights and possess certain authority and power. And you must know what these heritages are so that you can fulfil God’s plan for your life as the godly man, husband and father.

As the head of your family and the shepherd and prophet over your wife and children, you may think that your tireless labour for your flock is in vain. You may think that sacrificing your convenience, time, energy, skills, resources will not profit you. You may even think that it is not worth serving your flock anymore. You may even be discouraged with the results you are seeing in the lives of your wife and children regardless of all your commitments and sacrifices toward them (Is.54:11). I want to assure you that you have blessed rewards, and that is found in Is.54:12-15. Firstly, you will enjoy favours before men, and I will make your windows of agates, and your gates of carbuncles and all thy borders of pleasant stone (Is.54:12). Secondly, your children will enjoy great peace, and all your children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children (Is.54:13). Thirdly, you shall be established in every area of your life. You will also be far from evil, fear and the terror of the enemy. In fact, the terror shall not come near you or your family, in righteousness shall thou be established, you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear and from terror, for it shall not come near you (Is.54:14). You will enjoy continuous victory over the challenges of life, behold , they shall surely gather together, but not by me, whosever shall gather together against you shall fall for your sake (Is.54:15). Do you see hope being the good and godly husbandman? Do you see your inheritance in Jesus Christ?  I believe, yes. However, you must keep at one thing in mind. Just one thing-doing what is right- that is righteousness. You must keep sowing the seed of love into the lives of your wife and children. You must continue to intercede for them. You must continue to invest your time and resources in them. God is a rewarder, and He rewards faithful leaders. He will reward your works towards becoming the good and godly husband.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me to enjoy the fullness of my inheritance as the godly husbandman.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, save me from every spirit of discouragement and fear.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to continue to do what is right to my wife and children always.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am committed to serving the interest of my sheep faithfully and joyfully and I access the fullness of my inheritance in God as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
