HOW YOU CAN DELIVER ON YOUR AUTHOURITY (4)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Lk.10:19, Matt.5:14-16, Jn.10:10, Rom.12:21Eph.5:25, Jn.3:16, Lk.18:1, Ps.23:1-3, Rom.12:1-3, Lk.10:19, 1Tim.5:8, Matt.18:19, Jn.3:3-7, 1Cor.13:4-8

Let’s begin today’s teaching by asking these questions, which you must sincerely answer. Have you truly been the godly father and mentor that God wants you to be to your wife and children? Have you shown sufficient example by your conduct of how the godly man, husband and father should behave? Have you mentored your wife and children in a way that they will always look up to you for guidance, support, inspiration and encouragement? These are questions that you must give attention to and commit to doing your part of the covenant responsibilities as the good and godly husbandman.

The other key that you require in order for you to make the most of your leadership is your capacity to protect your wife and children from internal or external aggression. As the good and godly husbandman, you must understand that God has entrusted His sheep (your wife and children) to your care because He knows that you can do a good job. God also believes that you have the capacity to be like Him to your wife and children. That is what He said about you. Let us make man in our image and in our likeness and let him have dominion over……(Gen.1:26-28).

Your presence in the lives of your wife and children must deflect every pressure and attacks that may be targeted towards them and your home. These attacks may come from your parents, siblings, friends and even other family members. The attacks can also come from the devil. Some of the challenges come in the form sickness, oppression, assault, insult, nightmares and depression. You have been empowered by God to deliver your wife and children from all oppressions of the devil. In Luke chapter 10 and verse 19, the word of God says this. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Lk.10:19). So, as the good shepherd over your wife and children, you have a responsibility to exercise that power to protect them from any hurt in any form, be it mentally, physically or emotionally.

For instance, it is true that your wife may have some health challenges that are affecting her reproductive organs which have made her not to be able to conceive. It is also true that your wife may not be able to satisfy you sexually or may not even know how to cook. This same goes for your children. Notwithstanding the obvious challenges they may have, you must protect them. Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman gave you and I an example. While He led the bride (the twelve disciples), the authority of their day put them under pressure to pay their tax. Jesus did not leave them to the assaults of the tax masters, He did something.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with divine wisdom that I may know how to relate with my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make a worthy teacher of Your word to my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a practical example of truth, honesty, faithfulness and holiness to my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I exercise the authourity of God in my life to protect my wife and children from all oppressions of man, world and the devil because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
