As the good and godly husbandman, leading your life, and the lives of your wife and children, what really wins for you? What delivers the mandate of your calling as the godly man, husband and father? These are important questions that if answered will help you and I fulfill our calling as good and godly husbandmen and vessel of honour to God, through Jesus Christ.
Now what really wins for you? The word of God wins for you all the time.
For the WORD OF GOD is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow and is a discerned of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Heb.4:12).
The Scripture in Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 12 says that the word of God is alive, it is powerful, it is the sharpest and most penetrating. This means that the word of God is the most potent force that can bring about the desired positive changes you want to see in your life and in the lives of your wife and children. Money, cars, formal education, nice houses, and other material things are good but the word of God is more powerful than all of them in the battle to lead and sustain your godly leadership as the husbandman.
In Romans chapter 12 and verses 1 to 3, the Bible says God’s word renews. In John chapter 8 and verse 32, the Scriptures say God’s word sets free. And in John Gospel chapter 5, the Word of God says God’s word gives life and sanctifies.
If you put to use all the four forces inside the word of God in Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 12, your life and the lives of your wife and children will be positively influenced. Neither you nor your wife and children can live a life of disobedience and rebellion, anymore. By the word of God, you can subdue the ungodly tendencies in your life and in the lives of your wife and children. By the word of God, you can also drive away ungodly influences in and around your life and their lives. Truthfully, the word of God in you that you believe and operate with is more powerful than hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness and malice.
But for you to always win with the word of God, you must have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (Jn.3:3-6, 2Cor.5:17). Secondly, you must study the word of God to know and be expectant of what the word will do (2Tim.2:15). Thirdly, you must trust the word of God and believe that it is true. If you don’t believe the word of God to be true, you will not trust it enough to act on it. Hebrews chapter 11 and verse 6 says that he that must come to God must first believe that He is….(Heb.11:6). Finally, you must remain steadfast in the word, regardless of any unpleasant challenge that may be happening to you or between you and your wife and children. In Matt.6:22, the Scripture says, if thy eyes be single, your whole body will be full of light (Matt.6:22).
The Bible is not just a collection of historical events. It is the living word of God. It is the weapon of warfare and it is available for your taking. As you commit to engaging with the word of God, your victory is sure and your position as the good and godly husbandman is assured.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a word addict and let Your word dominate my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make Your word potent and fruitful in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make Your word to be fruitful in the lives of my wife and children.
FAITH CONFESSION
I love the WORD OF GOD and I engage it because that is what gives me victory and makes me to provide godly leadership to my life and to my wife and children as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
