While we look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal but the things which are not seen are eternal (2Cor.4:18)
The message of the Gospel that empowers the husbandman to be the good and godly man, husband and father is absolute faith in Jesus and in His works. As the husbandman, God wants you to walk by faith and not by sight.
So, over the next two days, we shall be looking into the Word of God to discover the force of faith that empowers the good and godly husbandman to overcome the challenges, trials and temptations of life.
But what is faith?
For faith is the substance of hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb.11:1)
If the husbandman must triumph in his journey unto perfection as the good and godly man, husband and father, then faith is a necessity for him.
It is a fact that the circumstances around you can be frustrating. The actions and inactions you get from your wife or children, the disrespect and disloyal attitude, the bitterness, anger, hatred and sometimes physical hurt can depress any husbandman. But when you walk in the realm of faith in the Word of God, you overcome these challenges, and you stay victorious as the good and godly man, husband and father.
Now, faith in the Word of God empowers you to see good in your wife and your children; it gives you hope that your wife and your children can be vessels of honour; and it strengthens your confidence that you can be the good and godly man, husband and father.
But why do I need walk by faith in God and trust Him to become the good and godly husbandman?
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of doubt, fear and discouragement.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to trust Your Word as the absolute truth as I lead.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the spirit of faith and help me to lead my wife and children by faith and not by sight.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am baptized with the spirit of faith, and I walk by faith and not by sight in all that I do, and over the circumstances of life, because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
