GOD WANTS YOU TO GROW

Walk before me and be ye perfect (Gen.17:1-3)

The perfect will of God for you and I as husbandmen is to grow in good and godly character. And the way to go about this growth is to walk and live according to the Word of God.

To walk before God means you think, act and conduct your life in line with the principles of the Word of God (Ps.24:1-3). This is what leads you to develop the Christ-like nature of patience, kindness, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, giving, faithfulness, sacrifices, prayerfulness, and so much more (1Cor.13:1-8, Gal.5:22-23).

But how do I walk before God and develop the character of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman?

You must repent of your sins and receive Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and personal savior (Jn.3:1-5, 2Cor.5:17).

You must deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ to know Him more and more, by studying the Word of God, giving attention to what it says, and meditating on it (Jn.6:61-63, Jn.5:39, Jn.8:32, 1Cor.2:15, Philp.3:10).

You must join a Bible-believing church and fellowship with the saints so you can be strengthened in faith and godly character.

You must continue to walk by faith, declaring the new and living way in Christ that you have found (Heb.11:6, Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1, Rom.10:10, Gal.2:13, Gal.4:19).

As the husbandman, you are an ambassador of Christ in your home and in the marketplace. God wants you to be like Jesus Christ by growing in good and godly character. Therefore, abide in Christ and He will abide in you, and you will be like Him.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, let Your word dwell richly in me.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to know You more and more.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

FAITH CONFESSION

I walk before God, in the light of His Word, and I do only those things that please Him because that is the pathway to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
