A foundational truth every husbandman must come to know and accept is that he is a servant. If he must attain the fullness of his divine authority, power, and influence, he must remain a servant, serving the best interests of his wife, his children, and the kingdom of God.
Let us consider a perfect servant-leader, Jesus Christ.
But ye shall not be so, but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For who is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? Is not he that sitteth at meat? But I am among you as HE THAT SERVETH (Lk.22:26-27)
Jesus says that if you want to be great, you don’t sit like a boss ordering people around, but conduct yourself as one who serves. As the husbandman, are you bossing your wife and your children around, or are you serving them with all that God has given you, faithfully and honestly?
As the good and godly husbandman, you must appreciate that being the husbandman is a ministry and a call to service. God wants you to serve your wife and your children with your time, your finances, your skill, your experience, your knowledge, your body, and your strength.
You must understand that being the husbandman is a divine privilege and a ministry. And the only way you can prove the fullness of the ministry is through service, ministering to the needs of your wife and your children. God wants you to minister to the spiritual, physical, emotional, material, and mental needs of your wife and your children (Eph.5:25-29, Eph.6:4, 1Tim.5:8, Deut.6:7, 1Pet.3:7, Gal.4:19, Gen.18:19).
God has sent you into the lives of your wife and your children as a servant-leader. Your honour, dignity, respect, and glory as the husbandman is in your service to them according to the instructions and guidance of the Scriptures. Your obedience to the covenant demands of biblical servant leadership is what makes you the good and godly man, husband, and father. You are never wrong serving your wife and your children. It is honourable to be a servant-leader.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with a new zeal to uphold my office with a servant mentality.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me not to disappoint the confidence You have in me.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to make the most of headship as the husbandman.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am grateful to God for making me the husbandman, and by this privilege, I embrace the responsibilities that come with the ministry to serve in all aspects of my relationships because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
